During the bronze melting process, various pollutants can be emitted. The metals used may contain contaminating elements such as sulfur, which are converted into SOx during combustion. Additionally, there may be the presence of dust particles and heavy metals derived from slag and melting residues, requiring proper filtration and neutralization techniques.
The balanced composition of Sorbalite allows it to act on both acidic pollutants, such as SOx, converting them into less impactful solid salts, and on heavy metals and VOCs, thanks to the adsorption carried out by activated carbon. These features make Sorbalite an effective additive in combating the variety of pollutants released from bronze foundries.
The purification process begins by injecting Sorbalite into the stream of hot flue gases generated during melting. Through an injection system, the product interacts with the flue gases, neutralizing acids and adsorbing contaminants in a single phase, thereby simplifying purification management, optimizing times, and reducing costs and operational complexity.
