Paper Mill Pulper Waste to Energy Incineration Plant. Solutions for Flue Gas Cleaning.

The paper recycling process generates a non-recyclable residue called pulper waste, which also contains plastics and metals. This residue is primarily treated in incinerators or waste-to-energy plants, which release pollutants including sulfur oxides (SOx), hydrochloric acid (HCl), hydrofluoric acid (HF), and heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, and mercury. These compounds are highly harmful to the environment. Polluting emissions are neutralized through a flue gas purification process, which includes filtering harmful gases with chemical reagents.

Metaltek Solutions

Metaltek provides various types of solutions for the flue gas purification from the disposal of paper mill pulp waste, advanced and customizable solutions to meet the needs of every situation.

Paper Mill Waste Pollutant Abatement

FAQ

In the paper recycling process, a non-recyclable waste called "Pulper waste," which contains substances like plastics and metals, is generated. This raises the need to treat these residues, and the most commonly used method is disposal through incineration or waste-to-energy plants. This process releases the pollutants contained in the waste and generates fumes containing acids such as Sulfur Oxides (SOx), Hydrochloric Acid (HCl), and Hydrofluoric Acid (HF), and heavy metals such as Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), and other metals that may be present in the waste and are highly toxic to the environment. This necessitates the requirement for Pulper waste disposal plants to reduce pollutant emissions through a flue gas cleaning process. This process involves filtering the contaminated fumes using chemical reagents selected depending on the pollutants present and in accordance with the regulations imposed by the area where the disposal plant is located.
Materials containing sulfur and nitrogen, such as the chemical agents used to bleach fibers, can release Sulfur Oxides (SOx) in combustion, while other substances like Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) and Hydrofluoric Acid (HF) are contained in the plastic residues such as PVC, and heavy metals like Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg) are often present in inks.
The EWC or EER code 03 03 07 refers to pulper waste from paper mills, namely waste materials from the production of paper, cardboard, cellulose pastes, and ready-to-use paper, and indicates a non-hazardous waste that still contains harmful substances and therefore must be treated.
